Our guest speaker, Director Melissa Graziano, will be at the film banquet on Friday evening, January 13, 2012. The reception and banquet begins at 5:30pm and the film festival begins at 7:30pm. To register click here.
Melissa Graziano won the coveted Dan McLaughlin Award for Best Animated Film for 2008. We will be screening her five minute film, Love on the Line, at the film banquet on January 13, following which she will discuss the film with our banquet attendees. Our general audience will see the film when it screens just prior to our feature film on Sunday evening, January 15. Love on the Line is a very successful experiment in using different media in animation.
Ms. Graziano will also meet with the Faith and Film class on Friday afternoon, January 13, at 3:30 p.m. to discuss techniques and issues involved in the development of short films. She is currently working on a film titled Stories My Mother Never Told Me. She reports utilizing materials and technology in ways that not only make audiences wonder, “How did they do that?” but that also enhance the story. We welcome her to the 11th Whitehead International Film Festival.
